3. The Verve: Bittersweet Memories
Renowned Photographer Chris Floyd captured the tumultuous life of the iconic band The Verve from the inside, as they toured as relative unknowns on their first American tour, all the way through to their farewell tour in 1997 at the very top of their game. Using previously unseen photographs, self shot video from the band and interviews, this is an intimate look at an important moment in popular culture. 8. Drift
Drift by Max Hattler sees the body as a metaphorical landscape. Eerie and sometimes too close for comfort the film manages to transform the familiar and mundane into something poetic and mysterious. A narrative grows out of what at first seems like nothing, but by the time the journey is over the viewer is left wanting more. What has happened is uncertain and maybe unimportant. The mood is at the heart of this piece. One part horror film and one part nature study certainly makes for a compelling mix.
9. The Fountain of Arethusa (La fontaine d'Aréthuse)
“La Fontaine d'Aréthuse” opens with what has been described as a “shimmering wash of sound in the piano, octave leaps in the left hand passing above and below repeated chords in the right,” a tune which apparently suggests the splashing waters of a fountain. The story “told” by the music involves a naked water goddess on the river shore, who is pursued by a hunter, before disappearing into thin air to join her water once again.

The film consists of a montage of shots, some close up, of the engine and its gears and wheels. With the accompanying ambient sounds and an orchestral score, the emphasis is on the engine's power and speed.
